Kiev-based Ukrainian religious historian and scholar Vladyslav Havrylov said that the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Russian Orthodox Church are cooperating in the war against Ukraine. Havrylov made these remarks at the “Balkan Disinformation Summit” organized by The Geopost, which is taking place today in Pristina.
Havrylov told the audience that disinformation was affecting the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, adding that Ukrainian children were being threatened and violently militarized.
The Ukrainian historian emphasized that Russia is trying to recruit young people from the occupied territories of Ukraine into the Russian army to fight against their country (Ukraine), and in his opinion this works because Ukrainian youth are brainwashed by propaganda.
“I would like to tell you some facts about disinformation, especially about the effects of forced deportation, militarization and Russification of Ukrainian children and how the Russian Orthodox Church and the cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Serbian Orthodox Church are helping in the war against Ukraine… You see a modern detention camp, it’s like temporary detention camps where Russia is trying to put Ukrainians and children… You see threats or violent militarization of Ukrainian children. This is an organization called the “New Army”, a paramilitary organization center founded by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Lavrov, which is trying to recruit young people from the occupied territories of Ukraine into the Russian army to fight against Ukraine. It is a very dangerous situation and as a result of this situation you can see in the next photo a portrait of young people fighting against Ukraine after this brainwashing, after Russian disinformation, after Russian propaganda,” he said, also revealing photos during his speech, as part of the Disinformation Summit.
He also spoke about the Serbs fighting alongside Russia in Ukraine and appealed to stop disinformation and Russian propaganda as soon as possible.
“And when we talk about the influence of Serbia, especially on the part of the Serbian Orthodox Church, you can see a meeting in Serbia, it’s a pro-Russian meeting.” And on the next photo you can see the rector of some universities in Montenegro, but this rector is trying to introduce a pro-Russian propaganda, he is trying to introduce a Pan-Slavic and pro-Russian propaganda in Montenegrin and Serbian society … And finally, in the picture, above all, there is a Serbian paramilitary organization called “serbski chetniki”, which is involved in the war process against Ukraine, and that is why disinformation in this area is so dangerous for Ukraine, and it is also dangerous for the European side, because if we cannot abolish this practice, it is very dangerous for other European countries. “We must stop this disinformation practice and this propaganda immediately,” he emphasized./TheGeopost
