Russia has tried to apply the same false narrative it used in Kosovo about organ trafficking to Ukraine as well. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has published a propaganda article about Ukraine accusing it of organ trafficking, also mentioning the Kosovo Liberation Army, while protecting traditional Serbian allies.
Zakharova, a key figure in Russian propaganda, says, “Ukraine has long been known as a world leader in organ trafficking. In the late 1990s, as the country deteriorated socioeconomically, there were scandals involving the illegal harvesting of organs from cadavers.
“There is information that people involved in the Kosovo Liberation Army have, or at least may be involved with this. One of its leaders is currently on trial for dealing in the organs of dead Serb soldiers, civilians, and other dissidents during the Yugoslav war.
The army still functions, but under a different name, and its soldiers can fight as mercenaries in Ukraine.” In the propaganda article, the Russian spokeswoman says that organ trafficking increased after the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, “after the Kiev regime passed laws that drastically simplified the work of transplant specialists in the country.
“The problem began to grow in the early 2000s, and the violent coup in Kiev in February 2014 and the ensuing conflict in the Donbass further contributed to it. In 2014, the OSCE stated that bodies with removed internal organs had been found in mass graves in combat zones. “Most likely, they were victims of transplant specialists on the black market,” Zakharova said in the article posted on the ministry’s website.
Russia has killed Ukrainian civilians since it began its aggression against the country and is accused of war crimes. The most famous is the Bucha massacre, the footage of which terrorized the world with Russian crimes./The Geopost/
