Manja Grčić has resigned from the position of general director of Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS), following demands for her removal from the Student List candidates and some of the public broadcaster's employees.
In a letter to the RTS Board of Directors, Grčić said that she had made the decision after reviewing the circumstances in which the public service is operating, assessing that her departure will enable the institution to continue its work without obstacles.
She requested that the Board of Directors take the necessary actions without delay to ensure continuity of management and the orderly handover of duties, while expressing her willingness to cooperate during this process.
Meanwhile, Grčić has dismissed Bojana Mladenović from the position of editor of the Information Program and has proposed Borivoje Uskoković as her successor, RTS confirmed.
On the other hand, a group of 70 RTS employees has proposed journalist Jovan Memedović as interim director of the public broadcaster.
The Board of Directors is expected to hold an electronic session to review issues related to changes in the institution's leadership.
Grčić's resignation comes after demands for her removal, that of other members of management and the editor of the news program, made by the Student List candidates and some RTS employees.
