Last week, the Serbian media “Kosovo Online” disinformed with a caricature and tried to portray Kosovo as a country involved in drug-related crime. Kosovo was also the target of other Serbian media that disinformed with the aim of sowing hatred between Kosovo and Serbia. Meanwhile, Russian propaganda targeted Western media last week.
“Kosovo Online” shows in a caricature the flag of Kosovo with a slightly deformed map and a ‘joint’ at the end.
And in the latest wave of propaganda and spreading disinformation with the aim of inciting hatred and fear towards Albanians and increasing tensions between Serbia and Kosovo, the Serbian media used the Albanian Denis Krasniqi, the young man from Kosovo who lives in Switzerland. The latter, despite being a person with special needs and 90% disabled, was used by Serbian ministers Ivica Dacic and Marko Gjuric to say that he threatens the Russian embassies in Europe.
“Serbian embassies targeted by Shiptars (Albanians)“, ‘Targets hanging in embassies’, ‘Kurtis terrorist: in 24 hours we will drop a bomb’, Shiptars (Albanians attack Serbian embassy in Europe)” were some of these propaganda and disinformation headlines.
That Western media allegedly support “Ukrainian propaganda” and participate in a hybrid war against Russia, said Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for Russia’s Foreign Ministry.
This disinformation by Zakharova occurred despite the fact that the Western media do their job to the highest professional standards and report objectively and impartially on events on the ground, including the situation in Russia and Ukraine.
While Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov disinformed by claiming that the Ukrainians could not have sabotaged the Nord Stream gas pipeline without the help of the US.
Lavrov provided no evidence to support the claim of US involvement in the North Stream attack. The investigations conducted by Germany, Sweden and Denmark are transparent and impartial and clearly show no evidence of US involvement. Such claims are part of a Russian plan to spread false information and propaganda./The Geopost/
