On the eve of the parliamentary elections in Kosovo scheduled for February 9, 2025, the Russian media outlet Sputnik Serbia spread misinformation by talking about “damage” to the Serbian List, which is supported by Belgrade and Russia.
As Sputnik Serbia writes:
“The Serbian List could very easily be damaged in the February parliamentary elections in Kosovo, as it does not have sufficient control over the electoral process, which opens up the possibility of introducing ‘ghost voters’ from Pristina.” “Albin Kurti is doing everything to prevent the Serbian List from re-entering the Pristina parliament.”
Analysis:
At the invitation of the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, the European Union sent over 200 observers to ensure the transparency and regularity of the elections in Kosovo. The mission is led by Natalie Loiseau, Member of the European Parliament. She leads a team of experts whose task is to monitor every aspect of the electoral process.
Polling stations are under video surveillance and all voters must register and follow the voting procedure to prevent possible double voting or manipulation.
Despite these steps, the Serbian List continues to spread disinformation and “irregularities” to portray the elections as unfair. Official data from the European Union and Kosovar institutions, however, do not point to irregularities./The Geopost/
