Komšić: Milatović flirts with a ‘Serbian World’ wrapped in the Open Balkans

BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić (DF) said that it is not clear what value system the newly elected President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, represents and assessed that some of his positions point to support for the idea of a “Serbian world”, packaged through the “Open Balkans” initiative.

“I don’t think Milatović has expressed himself, it is not clear which value system he prefers.” It is a flirtation that makes us shudder and shiver, a flirtation about the Serbian world wrapped and unwrapped in the cellophane of the ‘Open Balkans’,” Komšić told the Public Service of BiH (BHRT).

He said that he supported Milo Đukanović in the presidential elections in Montenegro because this is support for a civic Montenegro, a NATO member and a good neighbour.

Komšić said that it was clear after the first round that Milo Đukanović would lose the election, but that the support he was giving was support for a citizen’s Montenegro, a NATO member and a good neighbour.

“You could be silent, but then you are hypocrites, if someone asks you who you would support, the easiest thing to do is to say I have no idea, I am not interested, and you are lying”, he said.

On Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić’s statements that BiH was interfering in Montenegro’s internal affairs with the support of its top representative from the BiH Federation, Milo Đukanović, Komsic said that ” Vučić clearly overestimates the possibilities and the capacity of Bosnia and Herzegovina to interfere in the affairs of another country”.

He added that Bosnia and Herzegovina cares about maintaining the current level of friendly relations and understanding with Montenegro./N1/
