Serbia and Russia increase propaganda for Kosovo, experts: The goal is control over the Serbian community

Serbian and Russian media continue to propagate the situation in Kosovo. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova claimed a few days ago that Serbs living in Kosovo are being intimidated, tortured and driven from their homes.

Meanwhile, a news item recently published on the 'Kosovo Online' portal also raises the same claims.

But, in the face of these statements, a field observation shows that the Serbian community continues daily activities, including work, education, and businesses like any other community.

Security experts say that through such Serbian-Russian narratives, the aim is to frighten Kosovo Serbs, so that they can then be used to escalate the situation. Experts raise concerns that Serbia and Russia are aiming to destabilize the situation in Kosovo.

“Serbia’s aggressive propaganda against Kosovo aims at internal mobilization, using inflammatory narratives and aiming to maintain control over the Serbian community,” said Arben Fetoshi, director of the Institute for Hybrid Warfare Studies “Octopus.”

"Serbia is fueling every case related to the Kosovo Police and is trying, through the so-called Office for Kosovo, to present the Kosovo Police, so to speak, as an anti-Serb body. This is incorrect and done with bad intentions," said Dorajet Imeri, a political scientist./RTK
