Iran's self-proclaimed Persian Gulf Strait Authority has declared the Strait of Hormuz open to passage under certain conditions.
In light of the framework to end the war, Iran will grant free passage to ships that submit "requests in accordance with the necessary requirements," the body announced.
Procedures include submitting requests for passage at least 48 hours in advance.
The body also said it will not charge any fees for 60 days, the duration of the ceasefire stipulated in the US-Iran deal.
He warned that he would not consider requests submitted "through unofficial channels."
Otherwise, the Gulf Strait Authority was created as a self-proclaimed oversight body.
The US has sanctioned this body before, with Scott Bessent, the Treasury Secretary, calling it "a joke", saying the US "warned" entities against cooperating with the system.
