During the raid on the home of Bojan Jevtiqi, convicted a few days ago for espionage, documentation was found proving that he had been a member of the Serbian Police, the Gjilan Directorate based in Vranje, and a reservist of the Serbian Army, at least since 2009.

All of these are included in the indictment and Jevtic himself admitted all of them during the trial in Kosovo.

The chief of operations of the Kosovo Police at the "Dheu i Bardhë" checkpoint was both a member of the Serbian Police and a reservist of this country's army.

Bojan Jevtic, who was sentenced last week for espionage and illegal possession of weapons to six years in prison and a 2000 euro fine, has also admitted to the Prosecutor's Office that, in parallel with his employment relationship with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, he also had a contract with the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, known as "MUP", since at least 2009.

The Kosovo Police Chief, according to the indictment, reported to the parallel Gjilan Police Directorate based in Vranje, Serbia.

"During the search of the defendant's house, a lawsuit was also found - a four-page document, submitted by Vitomir Jevtic, the father of the defendant Bojan Jevtic, together with 17 other people, including the defendant, all police officers of the 'Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia in Kosovo'. The lawsuit was submitted on 15.06.2016 to the Basic Court in Vranje against the 'Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Directorate - Coordination Directorate for KM - Kosovo and Metohija'...", the indictment states.

This document states that the employment status decisions were not given directly to the plaintiffs, but were stored at the police directorate in Vranje and then transferred to the “MUP” headquarters in Belgrade.

Evidence was also found in Bojan Jevtic's house that he is a reservist of the Serbian Army.

"Among this evidence is also a certificate with no. 417-2, dated 14.03.2017, issued by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, which confirms that the defendant Bojan Jevtić, with personal number and residence in Berivojce, has been released from military service and transferred to the reserve. This certificate was signed by the chief of staff, Major Igor Milanović, and confirms that the defendant must respond to any request of the Serbian Army in case of need," the indictment states.

Jevtic admitted to compromising a confidential operational plan, approved two days after the terrorist attack in Banjska, as well as another order for vigilance, one day after the terrorist attack in Varaga.

The indictment also states that for more than two years, there were Kosovo police officers who were under the impression that Jevtic had served Serbia.

And the investigation led by special prosecutor Bekim Kodraliu revealed that a police officer asked the lieutenant, now convicted of espionage, whether the Serbian police would stop him if he crossed into the territory of the neighboring state.

"The implementation of special measures proves that the defendant Bojan Jevtić inquired with the Serbian BIA whether some Kosovo police officers would be detained during their passage through the territory of Serbia. As is the case of a police officer working at the Dheu i Bardhë Border Point, who on 21.07.2024 called the defendant Bojan Jevtić and told him that he was in Switzerland and wanted to return through Serbia, asking if he could travel through that territory - to which the defendant informed him that he had asked at the BIA and that he was not on the detention list. Also, several other cases have been identified, already elaborated in the personal testimonies of these persons/police officers," the indictment states.

Jevtic was in contact with BIA officials Sasha Ciriqi, Ivica Stakovic, Branimir Filic, Nebojsa Nedelkovic and an unidentified person he had saved on his phone as "Radica Carina", which translates to "Radica Dogana" in Albanian.

In addition to police plans and orders, Jevtic sent information to Serbia about who the Kosovo Police had stopped, as well as intelligence reports related to the smuggling of migrants, narcotics, and goods.

Bojan Jevtić is the first Kosovo Police officer convicted of espionage.
