Information about the confirmation of the mandate for the US ambassador to Kosovo has been published on the official Twitter account of the United States Senate Democrats.
"Confirmed: Jeffrey M. Howiener has been elected by acclamation in the Senate as ambassador to the Republic of Kosovo," the statement said.
Howiener's nomination, as well as several other proposed ambassadors, including Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill, was blocked three weeks ago in the Senate at the initiative of Senator Ted Cruz.

Cruz blocked the selection of about twenty ambassadors, proposed by the administration of President Joseph Biden.
Hovenier is a career U.S. Foreign Service diplomat who served on the staff of the United Nations Special Envoy on the Status of Kosovo. In Washington, he served as Director for Central and Southeast European Affairs on the National Security Council and in the State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs with responsibility for NATO and Central European Affairs.
