The fight against information disorder must be taken seriously, as disinformation also weakens trust in public institutions, the European Union’s ambassador to Kosovo, Aivo Orav, said on Monday.
Ambassador Orav made these statements at the opening of the “Glass Room” exhibition by the Berlin-based non-governmental organization Tactical Tech.
He said the exhibition shows how creative and stimulating learning can be and encourages everyone to take a closer look at the online world and critically question the information they consume.
“In today’s digital world, information spreads faster than ever before. This creates new opportunities for networking, but also new risks. When facts are distorted, trust in public institutions is weakened. When manipulation replaces dialogue, it has a negative impact on democracy. That is why the European Union attaches such great importance to education and transparency. We are proud to work with partners in Kosovo who share this vision: journalists, educators, civil society, and young people,” Orav said.
The exhibition will run for three days in Pristina and will then be on display in two municipalities in Kosovo, North Mitrovica and Podujeva./The Geopost/
