The Swiss Embassy in Kosovo has reacted after a news story was published in the media in Kosovo claiming that "Switzerland 'opens the doors' to 85 thousand jobs for foreigners - with salaries of up to 6.500 euros."
And according to the Swiss embassy's response, this information is false and the quotas for third-country nationals (non-Schengen countries) remain unchanged for 2026.
"Beware of fake news! Recently, social media and online newspapers have spread claims that Switzerland is opening its labor market to 85,000 foreign workers. These reports are false!", the Swiss embassy's response said at the beginning.
It is then noted that "as stated in the official press release of November 19, 2025, the Swiss Federal Council has decided to maintain the existing quotas for third-country nationals (non-Schengen countries) for 2026."
"A maximum of 8,500 qualified workers and specialists from third countries can be recruited in Switzerland next year. This includes 4,500 residence permits (B) and 4,000 short-term permits (L)," added the reaction of the Swiss Embassy in Kosovo, according to Telegraph.
We recall that the Swiss embassy's reaction comes after several media outlets, including some in Kosovo, reported that Switzerland was planning to hire around 85 people from abroad, including doctors, engineers, IT specialists, and hotel services personnel, with salaries reaching up to 6,500 euros per month.
The news described an "urgent need" for qualified staff in Swiss hospitals, hotels and engineering offices, and suggested applying through human resources agencies as a quick route to employment. /Telegraph/
