Several Gendarmerie vehicles, intended for dispersing demonstrations and repelling protesters, were spotted in central Belgrade today.
Similar vehicles were used last summer in Novi Sad to clear crowds of citizens from the city's boulevards.
The Nova.rs portal published a photograph showing Gendarmerie vehicles in front of the entrance to the Presidency building.
At the intersection of "Knez Milosh" and "Mbreti Milan" streets, near the point known as "Londra", several Gendarmerie vehicles were spotted today for dispersing demonstrations, which were moving towards Terazije.
Vehicles were allowed to pass through a police blockade that had disrupted traffic on "Knez Milosh" street.
According to reports, a convoy of around 20 Gendarmerie vehicles was seen earlier in the day on the Belgrade-Niš highway, moving towards Belgrade.
