US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, congratulated the Republic of Kosovo on its Independence Day, reaffirming unwavering support for the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
in mESSAGE In his speech, Rubio emphasized the importance of strengthening economic relations between the two countries to increase the prosperity of both nations.
He also praised Kosovo's support for American efforts on global challenges and its role as a founding member of the Gaza Peace Board.
"On this important anniversary, we look forward to even stronger cooperation in the years to come. The United States stands with Kosovo in building a secure and prosperous future," Rubio said.
Kosovo marks the 18th anniversary of independence today.
A day later, he also received a congratulatory message from the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
In his letter, Kosovo was congratulated for participating in the establishment of the Gaza Peace Board, as well as for the support it has given to US efforts to resolve other global problems, including the war in Ukraine.
"The United States stands ready to work together with Kosovo to advance peace and stability for the common good," Trump said.
The US was a strong supporter of Kosovo's journey towards independence.
Kosovar leaders consider it the country's most important ally.
