Russian representative to the UN fantasizes about cleansing non-Albanians from Kosovo

Russia's representative to the UN Security Council has accused the authorities in Kosovo of, as he said, "ultranationalism" and allegations of "ethnic cleansing of non-Albanians," without presenting any concrete evidence for these statements.

In his speech, he repeated allegations that history is being falsified in Kosovo and that, according to him, there is violence and intimidation against civilians by security forces. He also mentioned the laws on foreigners and vehicles, describing them as measures that, according to him, affect non-Albanian communities.

"The ultranationalist regime of the so-called Prime Minister Albin Kurti is accelerating the cleansing of the non-Albanian population in the province, and there is economic contraction, the expansion of security forces in the north, violence by security forces and intimidation of civilians, and even criminal prosecution of Serb civilians including the seizure of their property."

"Another clear example of nationalism is the so-called law on foreigners and the one on cars. Serbs are faced with a difficult choice, either to accept the so-called citizenship of Kosovo or to leave," he stated.

The Russian statements were accompanied by other allegations of pressure on Serbs in Kosovo and criticism of the security situation in the north of the country.

The Russian representative also claimed that the Kosovo-Albania-Croatia military agreement has an anti-Serbian character.

Moscow's accusations were presented during the debate at the UN Security Council, where the latest report on the situation in Kosovo and relations with Russia was discussed.
