Another case of nationalist provocation occurred at a football match, where a banner with the inscription "Kosovo is Serbia" was placed in the stadium stands, accompanied by a map of Kosovo and Serbian symbols.

The images were published on social networks by the page "Kosovo and Metohija", while the message displayed on the podium was interpreted as another attempt to promote Serbia's territorial claims towards Kosovo.

Such cases have appeared time and again in football stadiums and stands in Serbia, where sporting events are also used to promote political and nationalist messages.

Meanwhile, the Irish club Larne has also reacted to a similar incident, after the match against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League qualifiers.

Larne FC confirmed that a banner with political content was displayed in the McKay Stand at Inver Park Stadium during the first half of the match.

"Larne FC is aware of a photograph circulating from last night's Champions League match against FK Crvena Zvezda at Inver Park," the club said in a statement.

"During the first half, a banner with political content was displayed on the advertising boards in the McKay Stand. As soon as this was noticed, stadium security staff reacted immediately to remove the banner," the Irish club's response further states.

The incident has brought into focus the use of football stands to display political and nationalist messages, particularly in matches involving clubs from Serbia.
