Macron warns Europe: Russia will increase provocations against NATO countries

French President Emmanuel Macron has warned that Russia could intensify provocations and pressure on European countries, with the aim of convincing them to abandon support for Ukraine.

Macron made the comments after participating via videoconference in the Coalition of the Willing meeting, held this afternoon in Kiev.

According to the French president, Moscow's strategy may be to escalate tensions with European countries and NATO allies in an attempt to weaken Western support for Kiev.

"It is clear that NATO countries will be targeted and that provocations will multiply," Macron warned.

He has called on European countries not to fall prey to Russian pressure or threats and to continue assistance to Ukraine.

"We must remain calm and continue," the French president stressed, referring to military and political support for Kiev.

Macron's statements come after Moscow's recent threats against the United Kingdom. Russia has accused London of obstructing efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine.

Tensions rose after the United Kingdom announced it would help Ukraine develop and produce its own long-range missiles, providing data and technical support.

The Kremlin reacted sharply to this announcement, warning London that the Russian military would try to identify the places where the missiles would be manufactured and then destroy them.

Macron's warning once again puts the focus on the concern of European countries about the possibility of expanding the hybrid confrontation between Russia and the West, through threats, provocations, and pressure on countries that continue to support Ukraine.
