The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has thanked the citizens of Cetinje who organize daily walks in support of that state.
“Every day since the beginning of the Russian occupation, the citizens of Cetinje have organized marches in support of the Ukrainian people and army,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said on its Facebook page.
They say that “our Montenegrin friends gather every day from 17:30 in Cetinje and walk the streets singing Ukrainian songs.”
“Every day, regardless of the weather and other conditions, they organize massive support for our country, which is bravely fighting for the freedom of all Europe, the rallies in Cetinje do not have a formal organizer, but the people of Cetinje say that it is their duty. “Thank you for your support,” said a statement from Ukraine’s ministry.
The citizens of Cetinje for more than 50 days are gathering every day in King Nikola Square, as a sign of support for the Ukrainian people in the fight for freedom. Every day, they repaint a plaque in the Square with the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
They announced that rallies in support of Ukraine would be organized every day, until the end of the war.
Great Serbian forgeries and pro-Russian propaganda
We note that the support of the people of Cetinje for Ukraine has been criticized by the public and pro-Russian and pro-Serbian media, and that in some media and social networks have appeared photomontages and Nazi symbols on Ukrainian flags, which since the beginning of the war in Ukraine stand in the Montenegrin center with pride.
On that occasion, a group of citizens reacted, emphasizing that “Greater Serbia and pro-Russian propaganda does not avoid more vulgar subjugations and falsifications and that a new avalanche of misinformation has begun.
“Nazi symbols mounted on a photo from a rally in Cetinje in support of Ukraine, commented Aleksandar Radoman, assistant professor and deputy dean for teaching at the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature, emphasizing that “Montenegro has been the scene of a “hybrid wars in the centers of power in Moscow and Belgrade.
“Radoman stressed that it is a “public secret” that there are several points of intelligence and propaganda in Montenegro that spread Russian “soft power”, two of which are particularly influential.
“One is related to the Nazi-fascist portal In4s and behind it stands the current rector of the University of Montenegro, Vladimir Božović, and the other is the one at the headquarters of the Church of Serbia in Montenegro,” Radoman said.
