The NATO-led KFOR mission has strengthened its presence and intensified patrols throughout Kosovo as part of its regular training activities.
These actions come to be always ready to respond to any development that may affect security.
KFOR, through a publication on the social platform Facebook, says that with a flexible and agile approach, KFOR continues to implement its mandate under UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, contributing to a safe environment for all residents of Kosovo and guaranteeing freedom of movement at all times, in an impartial manner.
“The mission works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX)”.
KFOR also emphasizes that it cooperates closely with the international community, supporting the European Union-facilitated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
“The KFOR Commander, Major General Özkan Ulutaş, maintains regular contacts with key counterparts in Kosovo and Serbia to ensure effective coordination and rapid response.”
At the end of the announcement, it is stated that the increased presence and continued cooperation underline KFOR’s commitment to maintaining peace, security and stability in Kosovo and the surrounding region.
