Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has again called on NATO leaders to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine.
“If you do not close our skies, it is only a matter of time before Russian missiles land on your territory, on NATO territory,” Zelensky said in a video address posted on social media.
His call comes after Russian missiles hit a military training base in Ukraine’s Javoriv on Sunday.
The location is located 25 kilometers from Poland – a NATO member country.
Ukrainian officials said at least 35 people were killed and 134 wounded in the attack.
The United States has ruled out the possibility of imposing a no-fly zone over Ukraine, which it says could mean the downing of Russian planes by NATO forces.
According to US President Joe Biden, this would exacerbate the situation on the scale of a third world war.
