US General Daniel Hokanson, head of the National Guard Bureau and a member of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that avoiding efforts for peace and stability in the Balkan region is something everyone should be concerned about.
He made the comments while speaking about recent developments in northern Kosovo during an interview in Tirana with Voice of America.
General Hokanson said that everything is now normalising, while stressing that it is important for all leaders to be transparent in their conversations.
“Every time, there is a concern about violence, we are very concerned about that. Of course, our priority is peace and stability in the region, and from all the data it seems that everything is normalizing. I know that there is an ongoing dialogue. I think it’s very important for all leaders to be transparent in their conversations.”
“In fact, we want to focus on peace and stability in the region so that our citizens can move forward and our countries can prosper. And anything that deviates from that is something we should all be concerned about,” he said.
Among other things, Hokanson added that there has been a decrease in violence and “we hope that we can continue this”.
“Without question, the importance of KFOR, not only the United States but other nations’ forces, is there to help keep the peace,” the US general said./Telegrafi/
