The Serbian nationalist slogan “When Serbian Army Returns to Kosovo” also appeared in Budva, Montenegro.
The video of this mural was published by Montenegrin analyst Ljubomir Filipovic, who said that other Serb nationalist billboards are popping up in Montenegro.
“Today, a huge banner “When (Serbian) Army Returns to Kosovo” popped up in my hometown Budva today. In addition, for two months already, there are more than 30 Serbian nationalist billboards all over our small town. They’re saying that Montenegrins do not exist as a separate nation,” Filipović wrote on the “X” platform.
Such graffiti preceded the terrorist attack on September 24 in Banjska, Kosovo, in which police officer Afrim Bunjaku was killed.
Since the end of July, graffiti with such an inscription has appeared in Belgrade and other cities in Serbia. Such graffiti was also seen in Banja Luka in Bosnia and Herzegovina in August.
The graffiti was created by fans of the Crvena Zvezda soccer club after a friendly match with the Italian club Fiorentina on July 26 in Belgrade.
The graffiti message is part of a folk song sung by Metropolitan Amfilohije of the Serbian Orthodox Church and Bishop Atanasije.
In February this year, activists from the organization Youth Initiative for Human Rights and the Krokodil association painted this graffiti red on Slavija Square in Belgrade.
However, it was recreated in this place and in several other places in Belgrade.
A banner with the same message was also unveiled by the fans of the Crvena Zvezda soccer club during a friendly match with the Italian club Fiorentina on July 26 in Belgrade.
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, was part of this match.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, interpreted this action in the match as an incitement to violence, while there was no reaction from official Belgrade.
