The incident with 2-3 Russians or Russian-Ukrainians detained at the Gramsci Armaments Plant was as strange as it was interesting. That accidental event opened up a new front for us to look at things. Suddenly this event reminded the public of a simple thing; Europe is at war, we are at war and we can have the war at the door of the house!
Although our behavior with this fact is like that Hollywood movie with Leonardo DiCaprio “Don’t look Up”, where people continued their normal lives without giving a damn that a meteorite was coming towards the Earth to destroy it, again this event revealed us some painful truths.
First, it takes three civilians with nerve neutralizing spray to injure 2 guards of a NATO country.
Second, our warehouses and factories are in trouble, it only takes one Russian blogger to get the “insides” out.
Third, despite the fact that for three days, 3 Russian citizens were wandering around Gramsh, circling around the one of the only 3 military factories we have that still produces anything, no one, not even a simple municipal policeman, had the curiosity to be interested in who these people are, whether they are tourists or not, do they need any help???
One of the most famous Russian hackers in Europe had been walking around Albania for days, and none of the country’s security systems had set an alarm signal for this person, neither when they crossed the border, nor when they registered at RBB to sleep, nor when they posted on Instagram and social networks from the “Strategic Objects” of the Republic of Albania. If it wasn’t for a detailed investigation on the network by Infoweb, this hacker with a big name in the Russian hacker army would just be a Russian tourist suspected of espionage.
Fourth, what if these were a real special unit of the Russian Secret Service and wanted to avenge the death of those 4 Russians in Qerret last October and wanted to blow up the Banja hydropower plant in Gramsh, flooding all of Albania, when would we find out???
Fifth, after that big scandal with personal data in Albania and after the fact that it’s been 3 months since e-Albania doesn’t work, has anyone gone to prison even for a sense of dignity towards their country, so that today and the Russians suspected of being spies should understand that before they come to Albania for their work, not to think that this country is an inn without gates?!
Sixth, the political forces in the country, especially the parliamentary ones, were so out of place that they decided to break the holidays for one day and go to the Security Committee of the Parliament and explain to their citizens who voted for them, that this country has a god?!
Seventh, the media sees this event as those rosy summer chronicles with Instagram “bloggers”, we are in a war, dear colleagues, in a real war, we need seriousness.
Eighth, this event taught us that we who are destabilized by 3 civilians with neutralizing spray, in an evemt of real war, where will we be???
Ninth, it taught us another important thing that in this country we really don’t think about such an important thing and of that, that we are in God’s hands.
Last, but not least, the time has come for someone to take seriously the issue of strengthening the state, the slogan ‘Albania don’t be afraid, you have boys in America’ is not enough.
