Outgoing Police Minister Aleksandar Vulin attended the meeting of the interior ministers of several countries in Europe, which is the first of the series in the format of the Berlin Process, and on this occasion caused a scandal. As the organiser of the meeting did not want to remove the flags of individual participants from the hall in Berlin, i.e. the flag of Kosovo, Vulin refused to attend the meeting and thus put Serbia in an awkward position.
The interlocutor of the portal Nova.rs, who is familiar with the events, points out that the move of the outgoing police minister has put Serbia in an awkward position due to the fact that Aleksandar Vucic will also be at the same conference in a few days.
“The Berlin process itself continues with the main conference, which will take place on November 3, which will be attended by Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic, so his move is incomprehensible. Moreover, he is putting Serbia in an awkward position and complicating the visa situation with his statements even before the conference itself. He makes all efforts to keep the situation under control even more difficult”, the source told our portal.
According to Nova.rs, Serbia’s Interior Ministry has repeatedly demanded that the organizer remove Kosovo’s flag, but since this has not happened, Minister Vulin has left the hall where the meeting was held.
He refused to attend the meeting because, according to him, the “gymnih” model of state representation was not being followed.
The Berlin Process was initiated by former German Chancellor Angela Merkel in order to improve cooperation in the Western Balkans region and to prepare more quickly for eventual EU membership by strengthening regional cooperation./NovaS
