The “Sigurna Srpska” Movement, led by Draško Stanivuković, mayor of Banja Luka and leader of the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP), was recently established in the Republika Srpska. The vice-presidents of the Movement are Igor Radojičić, leader of the Independent Movement “Svojim Putem,” and Dejan Kojić, mayor of Pale.

Stanivuković announced that the Movement will be “the second strongest party, not in opposition, but on the political scene,” and that the PDP will dissolve itself. According to Stanivuković, the Movement’s goal is to become “perhaps even in the next elections” the “strongest political structure.”

At the founding assembly, Kojić emphasized that the Movement has a secure infrastructure and will be ready for the 2026 elections, with the goal of becoming the leading political party in the Republic of Srpska (RS) in the elections. Radojičić stated that they want to be the largest opposition force first, and then the strongest political option in the RS.

Nebojša Vukanović, a member of the List for Justice and Order in the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, told Danas that the Siguna Srpska Movement was conceived in Belgrade by Serbian services.

“Vučić wants to control the government in the RS, so instead of Dodik, he decided that Stanivuković was the best option. What Vučić did not do in Serbia – the Movement for the Nation and the State – he did in the RS under the leadership of Stanivuković,” Vukanović emphasises.

Danesa’s interlocutor explains that Stanivuković recruited Šešelj’s radicals, people who were part of the regime, Russophiles, and those who want a unitary Bosnia and Herzegovina, just as Vučić did with the “yellow” movement, recruiting people such as Goran Vesić and Mlađan Dinkić into his ranks.

“That Movement is an empty shell, which has a lot of money, dirty money from corruption. They have no ideology, they are pandering to Vučić, Russia and the West. I hope they will have no future,” Vukanović emphasizes.

Mladen Ivanić, a former Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) and honorary president of the PDP, supports the merger, but not the closure of the PDP.

“If the goal is to create a broader coalition, I support it. But if it means closing the PDP, I will be against it,” Ivanić emphasized.

When talking about Stanivuković, he believes that he has energy and potential, but also “a tendency to be hasty and create confusion.”

SNSD leader Milorad Dodik assessed that the formation of the “Safe Srpska” Movement will lead to the collapse or suppression of the PDP and that the SDS now has a new structure with which it will be able to fight, while the SNSD will remain in first place as the strongest political force in the Republic of Srpska.

“For us (the formation of the Movement) it means nothing, it is a struggle within the opposition that will lead to the dissolution of the PDP or its suppression. The SDS now has a new structure with which it must contend, achieving its ambition to be stronger than the SDS, while the SDS wants to be second. I have no problem with who will be second or third, we will remain first,” Dodik told RTRS.

He stated that in the free Republic of Srpska, everyone has the right to organize, represent, and have ambitions.

Regarding the Movement’s convention, Dodik stated that it was all done for appearances’ sake.

“They talk about corruption, he broke the asphalt for the one in the middle, and the one next to Igor Radojičić is called the third,” Dodik described a photo from the Movement’s convention in the “Borik” hall in Banja Luka, reports provjereno.info./Danas/
