Vučić on Iran’s side: US has violated international law

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić threatened that Serbia would put up unprecedented resistance in the event of an attack, stronger than in 1999.

After the meeting of the expanded College of the Chief of General Staff, he emphasized that Monday was “one of the turning points for the upcoming changes in the Serbian army”. At the same time, he expressed his concern about the escalation of tensions in the world, especially about the US attack on Iran. In this context, he sided with Iran and stated that the US had violated international law.

According to Vučić, his country must “strengthen its defense capabilities”.

“According to this doctrine, our army should be incomparably stronger. In the past year, we have done a lot to modernize and develop our army. Today we find ourselves in a world in which law and justice have long ceased to exist and there are no longer any rules. We have to accept and understand this,” said Vučić.

He also commented on the war between Israel and Iran and the US attack on the latter.

“Both nations are friendly to us. We want peace and I don’t understand why things have not been resolved diplomatically. More specifically, because every person should be fair to both himself and his country. We want closer relations with the United States, a strategic partnership. We are a small country. But there is no doubt that they have violated international law,” said Vučić.

“There are no rights, no justice. And above all, there are no rules in today’s world. Secondly, let me answer your question: How are you all from the West now going to inform the Russians or anyone else about the violation of someone else’s territorial integrity? When have you all violated it? You violated it with the example of Serbia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. But many have forgotten, it was a long time ago, 26 years ago. And that is exactly what has happened now. What are the principles? What rules are based on the realization of peace?” he added.

He also answered the question of why Serbia was exporting ammunition to Israel and said that everything came to a standstill after the start of the war in Iran.

“We sell ammunition, from which 24,000 people live here directly and 50,000 indirectly. So there are about 150,000 people with families in this country. I will not leave 150,000 people without bread. On the contrary, my job as president was to open up markets for them. I opened almost all Asian markets to them. Also the American market,” explained Vučić.

We recall that Vučić recently declared that Serbia is secretly arming itself and making the Serbian army invincible.
