On January 15, around 11:50 pm, three people of Serbian nationality were thrown a hand grenade from a car that approached them as they were leaving a bar called “Bishevac” in North Mitrovica. As a result, two of them were injured, writes The Geopost.
For this event, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has accused the US of being behind this attack without any justification.
“It is a shame to say that the Serbs threw the bomb, they did it for money and because someone paid them.” We are still investigating and I don’t want to jump to conclusions. I believe that in a short time we will know the nature of the attack, it is our determination, we will face many challenges, because you are dealing with irresponsible people in Pristina, you realize that they will not avoid anything, I will talk to many people tomorrow. “I hope that the Americans are not behind this,” Vucic said.
Vucic added that “Kurti receives support from the Americans and from Berlin”.
However, Vucic was denied.
The Kosovo police showed that the conflict had nothing to do with ethnicity and even less to do with the Americans.
The deputy police director of the northern region, Veton Elshani, has confirmed to the media in Kosovo that they have identified the two people involved in this incident and indicated that the police had initially searched their homes for questioning, but they were not found there.
“It is believed that this conflict was a result of previous problems between these people,” Elshani said.
Analyst Ivana Stradner commented on Vučić’s ridiculous statement, calling the Serbian leader paranoid.
“The Serbian president now believes that the US is behind an explosion in Kosovo. Recently, his propaganda accused the British MI6 of plotting a war in the Balkans,” she wrote.
Vucic had previously thanked the Russian secret service for what he called “information” that allegedly “the West wants to overthrow him through a color revolution”.
Vučić addressed the Serbian people after the outbreak of protests in Belgrade and expressed conspiratorial rhetoric. He said that the Serbian secret services knew that the opposition was planning an uprising. He slyly emphasized that foreign powers, if not necessarily collaborators, initially ignored his private warnings of unrest and celebrated the destabilization of Serbia. He thanked “the foreign services” who had not only listened but also provided additional information to help Serbian institutions deal with the worst. He alluded to the Russian services, which was later confirmed by the Serbian Prime Minister.
Ana Brnabić thanked the Russian security services for providing information indicating that the opposition was “preparing to organize protests in Belgrade along the lines of the Maidan in order to take power using revolutionary methods”. One day after Vucic’s speech, the Russian ambassador to Serbia said on Russian state television that the Serbian president had told him that he had “undeniable information” that the West had instigated the protests./The Geopost/
