Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci said in an interview for Tevë1 from the United States of America, where he is on an official visit to the State Department, that in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, from which he discusses the increase of military capabilities has also received a commitment for the purchase of helicopters, which is in the third phase of the KSF transition. Maqedonci stated that a significant amount of Javelin-type military anti-tank equipment is expected to arrive this year; half of the payment has already been made.
Maqedonci announced that he had been informed by the State Department about FBI experts investigating the attack on the Iber-Lepenc main channel on November 29, which he said was led by Milan Radoicic.
The Kosovar security forces are also receiving support from the United States of America.
And in order to get the green light, Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci has been at the Foreign Ministry for several days, holding high-level talks.
In an interview with TV1, Maqedonci said that the KSF had also received support for the purchase of helicopters from the Ministry of Defense.
“One of the points of discussion was the continuity of the purchase of the weapon system, now the Kosovo Security Forces will enter a different phase from 2025, namely the third phase of transition, where more advanced systems will be required, especially for military support, that is helicopters and therefore also air defense radars, and we have received support that the United States of America will support the Republic of Kosovo in building these capacities. “In the next two days we have important visits related to arms purchases coming up,” he explained.
In addition to helicopters, the KSF will also be supplied with a significant number of Javelin anti-tank devices this year.
“One of the issues we discussed was to have the Javelin anti-tank missile system as part of our anti-tank systems, because we also have other anti-tank systems in the KSF, we have received support there which will make it impossible, “At least this year we will have a certain amount, normally during the following year we will receive the replenishment of anti-tank equipment, as it is known that a significant amount has been purchased.”
The Minister announced that the KSF will be deployed to the Middle East for the first time with the IOWA Guard.
“We have discussed the steps we will take with the US to make international arrangements to land Kosovo Security Forces for the first time in a critical military operation in the Middle East that we want to conduct. We are planning with the IOWA National Guard and we have also informed the Ministry of Defense about the progress that has been made in the military capabilities of the KSF,” he said.
In addition, Maqedonci was informed during meetings at the Ministry of Defense that FBI experts are assisting the Kosovo Police in the investigation of the attack on the Iber-Lepenc Canal.
“At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we were informed about the involvement of FBI experts to assist our institutions in the investigation of the case. It is normal that both we and the State Department have discussed that the final result will also reveal the actors involved in the attack on critical infrastructure, as they have been involved in many previous attacks. The final results are awaited until the correct information. “But I have set out our reasonable suspicions that these attacks were perpetrated by terrorist groups led by Radojicić.”
During these meetings, Minister Maqedoncia announced that he was firmly committed to supporting the Republic in the Adriatic Charter and later in other structures, including NATO./Teve1/
