United States Congressman Ritchie Torres has said that as Serbia moves closer to Russia, Kosovo remains a unwavering ally of the United States and the European Union.
After a recent poll conducted in Serbia, in terms of citizens’ support for European Union integration, it turned out that 44% of them were against and only 33% support it.
After that, Congressman Torres wrote on the social network Twitter, adding that Kosovo should become part of the EU and NATO.

The messages given by the visit of the American delegation to Kosovo and Serbia
This week, April 25 and 26, respectively, a US delegation led by Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried visited Pristina and Belgrade.
During her visit to both countries, Donfried stressed the importance of resuming dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, in order for these countries to integrate into the EU and NATO.
She further added that the status quo serves the benefits of the Kremlin, as Russia wants to destroy any democratic unity in the Western Balkans.
“We give priority to supporting the European Union-mediated dialogue process, and to helping Kosovo normalize relations with Serbia, focusing on mutual recognition. The status quo is unstable. Not only does it hinder the European future of Kosovo and Serbia, but the Kremlin benefits from it. Russia wants to destroy any unity and democratic consolidation in the Western Balkans,” Donfried said during her visit to Kosovo.
Calls for Kosovo to join NATO have also been made by the country’s leaders. / TheGeopost /
