In an interview with ABC News, the head of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry’s intelligence service, Kirill Budanov, spoke about the current developments and the war in Ukraine, and also referred to the attacks on the Russian base Engels as well as to the state of health of Vladimir Putin.
Asked whether Ukraine was responsible for the attack on the Engels base in Russia, Budanov replied that he could not answer this question at this stage of the war.
I cannot answer that question. Only after the end of the war. I was happy when I saw this attack. That is my reaction. I think there will be more attacks. Deeper and deeper into Russian territory, Budanov said.
He also stressed that the attacks could also concern Crimea, especially taking into account the fact that Crimea is part of Ukraine and that therefore any weapon can be used in this area.
Budanov also responded to a question about the health of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Yes, he is terminally ill. I think he will die very soon. I hope so. We think it is cancer. We know this from sources close to the Kremlin, that is, to Vladimir Putin himself, Budanov said.
Budanov emphasized that in the event of Putin’s death there will be a transfer of power, but that the war in Ukraine should end before the death of the Russian president./Oslobođenje/
