The invitation of the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama for Russian tourists and the request of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky to stop them has aroused much debate.
Tourism expert Flora Xhemani and Irina Romanova, a Ukrainian who develops tourist guides, clashed in the studio of “Good Morning” at Euronews Albania.
According to Xhemani, it is in the Albanian tradition to open the door to those who knock, while Romanova called for no Russians to be allowed to come to Albania for tourism.
While Xhemani stressed that we could not allow the wrong policies of a country to penalize those citizens who would like to spend their holidays in Albania, Romanova said that if there were Russians who would have come out against Putin and the occupation, they would have fled Russia after February 24. According to her, pro-war people in Albania can not be allowed.
Romaniva added, however, that he would not ask any business not to work with Russians, given that Russian tourists have economic potential, but insisted that he would not provide guides himself because it was emotionally impossible.
