On the battlefield, the British Ministry of Defense said on September 11 that combat is continuing around the towns of Izyum and Kupiansk. Kupiansku is of strategic importance for Russia, as Russian troops are supplied from there to fight the Ukrainian forces.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army, Valeriy Zaluzhniy, has emphasized that Ukrainian forces have regained control of 3,000 square kilometers since the launch of the counter-offensive at the beginning of September.
He said that Ukrainian troops are only 50 kilometers from the border with Russia.

The governor of Kharkiv, Oleh Syniehubov, has said that the Ukrainian troops have regained control of more than 40 settlements in the region. Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
He calls the war a special military operation to demilitarize Ukraine.
