On Tuesday morning, the Montenegrin Mportal published correspondence proving that in 2020, members of the Skaljar clan, together with the Serbian Orthodox Church, requested 100 Kalashnikovs for Niksic. In that period, pro-Serbian parties together with the SPC organized rallies in Montenegro, reports Istraga.ba.
Members of the Skaljar clan, in cooperation with the Serbian Orthodox Church, were preparing for armed conflict ahead of the parliamentary elections in Montenegro in the summer of 2020.
This is shown by the analysis of the Sky application published on Tuesday morning by the Montenegrin Mportal, whose earlier statements about the Sky application were confirmed last week by the dismissed prime minister of that country, Dritan Abazovic, saying that “the transcripts were collected legally, but they are published illegally”.
“My brothers are asking me to buy 100 kalash. The church pays. They wrote to me. Yes, bro. They ask me for everything they have to buy right away. Mitra’s brother is the abbot,” wrote Risto Mijanovic to Nikola Dedovic on June 24, 2020, between 8:27 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Riso Mijanovic is a member of the Skaljar clan. Nikola Dedovic is the brother of Igor Dedovic, one of the leaders of the Skaljar clan, who was killed in Athens on January 19, 2020, together with his close associate Stevan Stamatovic. According to information from the Investigation, during that period Nikola Dedovic was in constant contact with criminal circles from Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e. from the Republic of Srpska, from where some of the weapons were supposed to be obtained, reports Istraga.ba.
The “SKY ECC” application is not, as it was assumed at the beginning, compromising only for criminals around the world, but also for numerous politicians, which was seen through the writing of the M portal and on the example of Montenegro. What is certainly unexpected, “SKY ECC” exposes a completely different level – the connections of the Serbian Orthodox Church with members of criminal clans, but also their joint, rather sinister, plans ahead of the parliamentary elections in Montenegro on August 30, 2020.
Only one of the series of communications deciphered by Europol and partner security services, and exclusively published by M portal, reveals how, behind the political scenes, members of the criminal clan, clergymen and people close to them spent three summer months in preparation for the elections.
Risto Mijanovic from Cetinje, a member of “Skaljari” with a thick criminal record, in the period from June 6, 2020 to the end of September of the same year, sent as many as 11,315 messages in “SKY ECC” communication under the code “4BM573, B40B01W”. The security services established that Mijanovic exchanged all messages with Nikola Dedovic, the brother of Igor Dedovic, one of the leaders of the Skaljar clan, who was killed in Athens on January 19, 2020, together with his close associate Stevan Stamatovic.
In the “SKY ECC” analyses, the correspondence of the security service, among other things, records the following:
“1. 24.06.2020. Mijanovic informs Dedovic that the “church” (SOC) has asked him to purchase 100 pieces of AK-47 Kalashnikov assault rifles, in order to organize armed resistance (it is not specified which event requires armed resistance – a working assumption – in case of an undesirable outcome at the upcoming general elections in Montenegro / if peaceful protests do not result in desirable developments).
Mijanovic states that he obtained part of the information from Knezevic Mitar (a close person of OKG “Skaljari”), and based on the fact that brother of Knezevic Mitra is a priest of Knezevic Ostoja.
Mitar Knezevic, whom Risto Mijanovic cites as a connection with the Serbian Orthodox Church, became known to the Montenegrin and regional public after the murder of Ljubisa Mrdak, a member of the security service at the post office in Niksic, which a seven-member group, where Knezevic was part, tried to rob on October 20, 2021. Although Knezevic also has a thick criminal record long before the murder of Ljubisa Mrdak, he is now mentioned for the first time as a “close face of Skaljari”.
Mitar Knezevic was part of a group of Serbian extremists who, under the patronage of Niksic Municipality President Marko Kovacevic, were preparing to “defend” the Cetinje Monastery during the enthronement of Metropolitan Joaniki on September 5, 2021. Knezevic is the biological brother of Archpriest-Stavrophore Ostoja Knezevic, personal secretary of Joaniki Micovic. Ostoja was for many years the rector of the Cathedral in Niksic, and after the election of Joanikij Micovic as metropolitan, he moved to Cetinje and now in the Eparchy of Montenegro and the Littoral he has a triple official role: personal secretary of Micovic, then, instead of Gojko Perovic, vicar of the archbishop’s protopresbytery (encompassing all parish on the territory of Prijestonica) and parish priest of the 2nd parish of Cetinje.
Knezevic was replaced by the controversial priest Mijajlo Backovic as abbot of the Cathedral in Niksic.
Risto Mijanovic from Cetinje for about 10 years has been a regular “member” of media columns about the Black Chronicle. Back in 2013, he was arrested, together with his father Radovan and then-minor brother Filip and 12 other people, in the large regional police operation “Grom”, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of creating a criminal organization and the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and placing in traffic in narcotic drugs. In the years after that, Mijanovic is mentioned exclusively as a high-ranking member of the Skaljar clan in several confrontations that took place between this and their rival Kavacki clan.
