The commander of the KFOR mission, Major General Ferenc Kajari, received on Thursday in a meeting the Ambassador of Ukraine to Serbia, Volodymyr Tolkach, at the headquarters of this NATO mission in Pristina.
A number of issues were discussed during the meeting, including the current security situation in Kosovo and throughout the Western Balkans region.
The Hungarian commander of the KFOR mission thanked Ambassador Tolkach for his valuable contribution to Ukraine.
“I would like to express my gratitude to the Ukrainian contingent and for the professionalism they have shown and the daily contribution to ensuring the security and free movement of all people in Kosovo, since 1999.”
During his visit, Ambassador Tolkach also met with representatives of the contingent of Ukrainian troops stationed in the KFOR mission, including personnel serving in the KFOR Joint Logistics Support Group, as part of the Detachment on Freedom of Movement .
40 KFOR soldiers serve in the KFOR mission. But they expect to return to Ukraine soon to help their country.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed a decree in March, urging all professional members of the army, who are on peacekeeping missions around the world, to return to Ukraine.
