
This evening, a powerful explosion occurred in the village of Varage in Zubin Potok, damaging the Iber-Lepenci water canal.
The news was confirmed by the deputy police director for the northern region, Veton Elshani.
“Yes, an explosion was heard in the water canal and the police teams are working to solve the case as soon as possible,” Elshani said.
It turned out that the water started to flow out of the canal uncontrollably.
Izmir Zeqiri, mayor of Zubin Potok municipality, told RTK that a house was in danger due to this explosion and that its residents were evacuated.
Meanwhile, the regional water company “Mitrovica” announced that due to the damage of a part of the Iber-Lepenci canal, through which the citizens of Mitrovica are supplied with water, the drinking water supply has been interrupted. This company invites citizens to ensure the supply of drinking water.
