The US gave the green light to 14 million worth of weapons, AFA: Americans have always been close to Kosovo

Days ago, it was announced that the US Department of State had notified the US Congress of a proposed permit for the export of defense items, technical data and defense services to Kosovo, worth $14 million.

And this has been welcomed by the Association of Albanians for America.

"Another testament to the ongoing partnership between the United States of America and Kosovo. The announcement that the US Department of State has processed in the US Congress the permit for the export of defense items and military services to Kosovo worth over 14 million dollars is a clear message of trust in our state and security institutions.

"The referral for consideration by the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee proves the institutional seriousness and bipartisan support that Kosovo enjoys in Washington," the statement said.

The response further states that from Humvees, ASVs, drones and modern defense systems, to support for the transformation of the KSF into a professional army worthy of NATO, the US has always been with Kosovo in decisive moments.

"The KSF's engagement in international missions and preparations for participation in the stabilization force in Gaza are evidence of the increasingly active role of our state alongside our allies.
