It has been less than a year since the organized resignation of Serb police officers in the northern municipalities, about 46 Serbs have started working in the Kosovo Police. Veton Elshani from Kosovo Police has also confirmed the beginning of work of Serbian policemen.
On the social networks of Serbian media, Serbs welcomed the Kosovo Police officers and wished them success, while Kosovapress reported threats on the Russian Telegram channel yesterday.
Natasha Pavlovic from Belgrade hopes that the new police officers will work properly and not like their predecessors.
“Congratulations, young people, I am sure they will do their job honestly, unlike those who got rich in some plantations and laboratories and now make a patriot with full pockets!” commented Pavlovic.
Milan Milovanović from Kraljevo expressed almost the same opinion.
“Let people work, if it was not prevented that the intellectuals of the Serbian List were in their governments, yachts and other things, why should that stop you…. better than carrying banners at Vucic’s rallies, protests, etc. with the same salary “barricades for the interests of individual rulers and the Serbian List,” Milovanovic wrote.
Meanwhile, Dushan Milenkovic congratulated the young police officers and wished them all the best in their work.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti wrote on Twitter last night that officers from non-majority communities had started their work in the north of the country this week.
“We thank them for their service and wish them success,” Kurti wrote.
Veton Elshani, Deputy Commander of the KP for the Northern Region, announced that the new Serb police officers in the KP are from different parts of Kosovo, including the northern municipalities of Mitrovica, Leposavic and Zubin Potok.
“46 of the officers are Serbs, 17 Bosnians, 8 Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians, and 3 Turks. They started on Monday. Through practical work, they will now receive additional training to work in patrols and other necessary tasks. They will be trained in different phases,” Elshani told KosovaPress.
The publication of the names of new Serbian police officers was made by the Serbian channel t.me/BunkerSrb on the Russian platform Telegram, which was also condemned by the head of EULEX, Giovanni Pietro Barbano. /Kosovapress/
