The Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia have announced a competition for applicants for voluntary military service with weapons for 2024.
“We invite all interested young men and women who will be between 19 and 30 years old in 2024 and who have not yet performed military service with weapons to apply for voluntary military service, as well as military training for reserve officers. We would also like to remind you that all those interested still have some time to apply for the recommendation deadline in December. Candidates have the opportunity to undergo dynamic military training, show patriotism towards their country, and voluntary military service is also the shortest way to become a professional member of the Armed Forces of Serbia,” the Serbian Ministry wrote.
The Ministry of Defense has also indicated the amount of salary that the soldiers will receive.
“Future soldiers also expect a monthly salary of around 46,000 dinars. All those who decide to apply for military service status as part of their voluntary service can expect shortened and simplified selection and admission procedures.”
In order not to reveal any further information about the application for voluntary military service, the ministry has written that interested candidates can obtain it at the Ministry of Defense centers.
The announcement comes after the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, warned that in Raska, Serbia, the paramilitary and terrorist reorganization of Milan Radoicic and his group is taking place with instructions and support from the Serbian state.
“On Friday, November 10, he chaired a meeting with about 40 Serbian politicians and officials of illegal municipalities from Kosovo. At the meeting in the House of Culture in Raska, he was accompanied by Svetlana Milladinov, the deputy of Petar Petkovic, the coordinator of the so-called Office of Serbia for Kosovo. The meeting was attended by the deputies of the Serbian List as well as its new chairman Zlatan Elek and deputy chairmen Dragisha Millovic and Dalibor Jevtic. A mobilization was called for the election of the party state in Serbia, SNS, in the elections on 17 December. Those who are on the payroll were conditioned to it, others were offered jobs for a period of 3 and 6 months.”
Kurti said that Millan Radoicic was released within a day after the terrorist attack in the north to continue his paramilitary and terrorist activities in the service of Serbian state policy against Kosovo.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo said that it continues to threaten the security of the Republic of Kosovo through the forward bases of the armed forces of Serbia along the border with our country.
“In addition, Serbia has stationed air defense systems near the border with Kosovo. The threat to regional stability, peace and security posed by Russia and Serbia is becoming increasingly clear. Russia wants to ignite a crisis fire in the EU courtyard and defocus NATO, while Serbia is fulfilling its territorial ambitions towards its neighbors according to Vulin and Vucic’s “Serbian World” project. The lack of sanctions against Serbia increases the threat in the Western Balkans. “Instead of being brought to justice in Kosovo, the leaders of the terrorist group continue to prepare further attacks on Kosovo and collect votes by blackmailing Serbs in Kosovo,” Kurti said.
During the visit to Skopje, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that there was cause for concern in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina due to Serbia’s aggressive policy towards the two countries.
“This region is very important for NATO and there is cause for concern.” We see threats of separation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the fragile security situation in Kosovo and stalled talks between Belgrade and Pristina. “Authoritarian states such as Russia are endangering democratic integrity through cyber threats,” said Stoltenberg in Skopje./The Geoost/
