Dario Ristić, who fought in the Russian army in Ukraine, was arrested last week at Sarajevo airport after returning to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Klix.ba has confirmed.
Ristić left Bosnia and Herzegovina on November 17, 2023, traveling via Turkey to Russia. There, he fought as part of the “Perm Bears” military formation until he was wounded on the front lines.
He lost his leg in battles with Ukrainian forces in the Donbas region, after which he was granted citizenship of the Russian Federation.
After two years in Russia, Ristić decided to return to Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite being identified by security agencies as a person who had participated in foreign combat.
Following his arrest, a court in Bosnia and Herzegovina ordered Ristić to be remanded in custody for one month on Friday.
Ristić himself often threatened to destabilize Bosnia and Herzegovina “when they finish their work with the Nazis in Ukraine,” hinting at the return of all Serbian volunteers to Bosnia and Herzegovina./Klix.ba/
