Members of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Armed Forces from the Serbian community did not attend the ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Armed Forces Day, which took place on Monday in Sarajevo. As confirmed by Klix.ba, the reason for their absence was the presence of delegations from the A5 conference, in particular representatives from Kosovo, as reported by The Geopost.
Chief of the Joint Staff Gojko Knežević and Deputy Minister of Defense Aleksandar Goganović did not attend the ceremony. All of the above had attended the reception and commemoration ceremony for Bosnia and Herzegovina Armed Forces Day at the Rajlovac Barracks.
During the official part of the program, Minister Helez stated that the 20-year history of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the best example of successful reforms after Dayton and proof that a joint state can function when strengthening institutions is a common goal.
“This is a story of courage, responsibility, and belief in a common future,” Helez said, thanking NATO headquarters in Sarajevo, EUFOR, and international partners for their support in modernizing and developing the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Denis Bećirović, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, addressed those present and emphasized that two decades of development of the armed forces had strengthened their credibility at home and abroad.
