“Why did Nuland rush to Kiev? Most likely the White House told her to go there immediately in case something went wrong in Kiev. ‘Obviously, they were really afraid that Valery Zaluzhny would deploy the military and use it against Volodymyr Zelensky,'” the material reads.
Analysis:
The title published on the portal “Informer” is a misinformation, because Victoria Nuland has been dealing with Ukraine for several years and her trip there coincides with her duty. Therefore, the title does not match the spelling and was used as misinformation to increase clicks on the medium in question.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland traveled to Kiev because of the threat of a military coup in Ukraine, writes the Asia Times newspaper.
“Assistant Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland arrived in Kiev on January 31,” said US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink.
“Today we will meet with government leaders, veterans and civil society to underscore our shared commitment to countering Russian aggression in Ukraine,” Brink wrote on the social media platform X.
Earlier this week, Brink welcomed three US inspectors who arrived in Kiev to monitor US aid.
Nuland has long worked in Ukraine and became the US point of contact in Kiev after the EuroMaidan revolution in 2014 and the subsequent start of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
