After the Kosovo Police in North Mitrovica yesterday arrested the leader of the criminal gang called “Civil Defense”, Milun Milenkovic Lune, who was also the main organizer of the attack on KFOR forces and the Kosovo Police in Zvečan, today Serbian forces kidnapped three police officers of Kosovo who patrolled in Tresava – Bare, municipality of Leposavić, on the border line in the north of Kosovo.
The Kosovo police condemned what they stressed was a classic kidnapping of three Kosovo police officers by Serbian forces.
“The Kosovo Police is concerned and condemns this classic kidnapping. We assure our citizens that the Kosovo Police will remain committed and will fulfil its constitutional and legal duties”, said Baki Kelani, Kosovo Police spokesman.
The Kosovo authorities have demanded the immediate release of the three policemen.

Kosovo’s Minister of the Interior, Xhelal Svecla, said that Serbia had entered Kosovo territory and kidnapped the three policemen in violation of international norms.
“While law and order is being maintained in our country, the criminal Serbia has entered the territory of Kosovo and kidnapped three policemen of the Republic of Kosovo, contrary to any agreement and contrary to all principles of international norms”, Svecla said, adding that the policemen are undoubtedly stationed deep in the territory of Kosovo, at a static checkpoint at the entrance to Kosovo, where they are carrying out their regular duties.
“Serbia continues to be the cause and guardian of evil in the region and in Kosovo. We do not back down in the face of criminals and terrorists. Serbia is once again showing its true face as an autocratic and aggressive state”, Svecla said.
President Vjosa Osmani said that the kidnapping of three policemen on the territory of the Republic of Kosovo was an aggression by Serbia.
“This act proves once again that Serbia is not interested in peace and stability in the region, but in destabilising Kosovo and the whole region,” said Osmani.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that three police officers have been kidnapped by the serbian army. He assessed that this was in retaliation for the arrest of Milun Milenkovic Lune the day before.
Also today, the Pristina Basic Court ordered a 30-day detention order for Milenkovic, who is charged with terrorism, violent change of the constitutional order and endangering a person under international protection.
At the time of the kidnapping of the three policemen by the Serbian special forces, President Aleksandar Vucic and Russian Ambassador Aleksandar Bocan-Harchenko attended a reception at the Russian Embassy to mark Russia Day.

As a reminder, Serbia did not join the sanctions imposed on Moscow by the European Union, the United States and other Western countries./The Geopost/
