A senior Serbian official said on Tuesday that Belgrade would never impose sanctions, or join Western “hysteria” against Russia over its attack on Ukraine.
Serbian Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin said that “Serbia will never be part of the anti-Russian hysteria, according to which the property of Russian citizens and the property of the Russian Federation are stolen.” “We also will not stop the Russian media,” he said.
Serbia is a strong ally of Russia, although it has condemned the Russian attack on Ukraine.
Serbia is seeking membership in the European Union, but is the only European country that has refused to join international sanctions against the Kremlin.
