Serbia steps away from the EU, resolution in the Assembly for membership in Bricks

The resolution for BRICS membership has been submitted to the Assembly of Serbia for the second time. The initiative came from representatives of the Socialist Party, reports The Geopost.

The document expresses full readiness to start a dialogue on the advantages and disadvantages of the country joining the organization. The resolution obliges the speaker of the parliament to call a referendum that should determine the final form of political and economic integration in the Association.

A similar resolution has already been submitted to the Assembly of Serbia in August 2023. However, the deputies did not have time to consider it due to the snap elections.
