The Belgrade City Election Commission today confirmed the Serbian right-wing list “For the army to return to Kosovo – Misa Vacic”, which will appear on the ballot with the number 8. The list holder and candidate for mayor of Belgrade is its president Misa Vacic.
He said publicly that nationalism should grow in Serbia and called for the Serbian army to enter Kosovo.
“Political forces must come to power in Serbia that have the strength and will to sign the return of our army to Kosovo. Personally, I am ready for such a thing, that is why I am running for the office of the Mayor of Belgrade, to present this policy through the media and to convey the message to every citizen that it is time for the return of the army to Kosovo,” said the Serbian nationalist politician.
Despite the fact that he went to hand over the list of Serbian right-wing activists who carried Serbian flags and flags with the inscription “No surrender of Kosovo”, he was certified.
Who is Vacic?
Recently, the State Department and the Treasury Department of the United States of America announced the decision to impose sanctions against some individuals from the Balkans.
Among them are Misa Vacic and Nenad Popovic, as well as a number of economic entities and because of their connection with the harmful activities of the Russian Federation and with the aim of a functioning democratic administration of the region.
Misa Vacic is the leader of the ultra-right pro-Russian organization “Serbian Right”.
Vacic is on the sanctions list because, according to the declaration, activities “undermine the peace, security, political stability, or territorial integrity of the United States, its allies, or partners” and that are in favor of the Russian government.
Since the beginning of the occupation of Ukraine, he has taken part in rallies in Russia and rejected the imposition of sanctions against this country.
