SAD plans 500 million dollars military aid package for Ukraine

The United States plans to announce a new 500 million dollars military aid package for Ukraine as early as Tuesday, 27 June, showing its determination to help it in its race against Russia.

The military aid package will include ground vehicles, while Ukraine will be counter-offensive, two US officials said.

It is expected to include 30 Bradley fighting vehicles and 25 Stryker armoured personnel carriers, one of them said.

As part of the aid package, Ukraine will receive munitions for the High Mobility Air Launched Rocket System (HIMARS), anti-aircraft weapons, including munitions for the Patriot and Stinger anti-aircraft systems, according to the officials, who asked to remain anonymous, Reuters reported.

The package is still being finalised and could change, they said. The White House did not respond to a request for comment, Reuters writes.

The bit will be the 41st aid package the United States has approved for Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, worth more than 40 billion dollars./RSE/
