Russian hackers attacked websites of Kosovo institutions

Russian hackers have attacked the websites of Kosovo institutions that were down during the day. According to the government’s announcement, the target of the attacks was the website of the Office of the President and the Prime Minister’s Office, which were quickly restored.

These pages have been attacked, as the Minister of Defense, Ejup Makedonci, announced to RTKLive, after the statements he made against Russia.

“This group of Russian hackers launched a cyber attack against Kosovo in retaliation for my statement in support of Ukraine,” explained Macedonci, who was in Poland at the “Defense 24” defense conference.

The reaction of the Russian hackers mentions the speech of the minister Macedonci, who, according to them, said that “Kosovo is ready to offer military assistance to Ukraine”.

“Kosovo is ready to join the joint efforts to support the defense of Ukraine. They should think more about it…”, these hackers wrote in Russian, mentioning the minister Macedonci.

We also recall that a day ago, two Russian citizens were detained in northern Kosovo after entering our country illegally.

“The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Mitrovica has filed charges against the two detained persons with the request for deportation from the territory of Kosovo for the criminal offense – unauthorized crossing of border crossings or the border line,” said to RTKlive spokesman of the  Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Mitrovica, Valon Preteni.

Kosovo police announced in the 24-hour report that two people with Russian passports who did not have Kosovo visas were detained in Jarinje. They are said to have entered Kosovo illegally./RTKlive/
