Damjan Knezevic, a Serb with close ties to the Russian paramilitary group Wagner, from Raska, Serbia, has called for resistance from barricades erected by criminal groups in northern Kosovo.
Wagner is owned by Yevgeny Prigozhin, a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to Knezhević, the message they sent, as he called it, will be understood very soon.
“This is not the first time that my brothers from Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia meet. We understand each other, we meet occasionally like now to send messages. They will understand the message that we will send very soon,” he said before the beginning of the protest in Jarinje.
He adds that some of them will join the barricades.
“We did not invite them, they were invited by the Serbs who are on the barricades. We came to prove that we exist and to continue the barricades. Maybe one of us will stay [on the barricades]. We do not accept any institution, we do not accept any agreement signed after Resolution 1244. See you in Jarinje,” he added.
Some of the roads in northern Kosovo continue to be closed for the ninth consecutive day as a result of the erection of barricades by local Serbs supported by the Belgrade regime.
This situation continues to deteriorate as dozens of armed Serb and Russian extremist groups have increased their presence in this part of Kosovo.
In addition to Wagner, members of the Russian extremist group “Night Wolves” are also present in this part. They support the erection of these barricades, which were set up a week ago, and say that Serbia’s victory will also be Russia’s victory.
