The First Basic Prosecutor’s Office announced this week that it will start questioning citizens who came forward after the protests in Belgrade on 15 March, when a crowd of people fled the streets in panic while paying tribute to the victims.
The prosecutor’s office in charge of the investigation told Insajder that they have so far identified more than a hundred citizens with denunciations who will be invited to give statements. “The prosecutor’s office intends to take statements from more than a hundred citizens, but this does not necessarily mean the final figure. In parallel, an investigation is underway to establish whether other citizens have been denounced and their identity,” the media outlet writes.
The theme was created on 16 March, the day after the student meeting in Belgrade.
While paying tribute to the dead at the collapse of the roof of the Novi Sad railway station, an unpleasant sound disturbed the gathered citizens on Kralja Milana Street.
Allegations that a “sonic cannon” had been used soon emerged, but these claims were repeatedly denied by government representatives.
Meanwhile, at the invitation of the authorities, the Russian FSB arrived in Serbia with a mission to find out what happened on 15 March./N1/
