The alleged St. George’s humanitarian organization is from the Loncar locality near Bosnian district of Brcko, and directly funded by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bosnia and Hercegovina. The leader of this organization, Srgjan Letic, has been convicted by Bosnian justice several times. Though the organization claims to have a humanitarian character, their activities have a totally different nature.
Starting on January 6 this year, the organization has had several activities in the district of Brcko, while the photos they’ve shared on social media prove that they have a pure connection with Chetnik associations.
“We will give blood for Republika Srpska as our Milorad Dodiku sees it, because only he has a vision of how to protect and defend Republika Srpska from external and internal enemies, i.e. fake oppositionists who are ready for anything, just to seize power and sell the graves of our ancestors. They will be judged by God, but before him the people will judge them in the elections”, wrote the members of the Association of Saint George from Loncar, a village that belongs to the Brcko district, on the occasion of the unconstitutional day of Republika Srpska.
They claim he will not give up the fight for Republika Srpska.
But who are the members of this supposedly humanitarian organization of St. George who wear the uniforms in which it is written – Russia. Srgjan Letica is the leader. BIRN colleagues wrote last year that a group of men from Loncar, near Brcko, dressed in black sweatshirts with the inscription “Russia”, had been present for more than a year as a humanitarian organization ready to help all. But the leader’s criminal past, the honoring of the war crimes indictee and the interest of the police reveal show another face of the group.
“Srgjan Letic sent to prison” was the title of an article published in Nezavisne magazine in June 2012.
The text further states that Letic was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for raping a minor. BIRN, meanwhile, announced last year that it had taken several decisions against Letic, who was sentenced to a total of four years and three months in prison, but in special cases.
This convict is the leader of the allegedly humanitarian organization Saint George from Loncar.
A photo taken few days ago, when humanitarian workers were getting ready to celebrate Christmas. The Christmas tree is lit in front of the church in Loncar. They were joined by Chetniks, also in uniform with hats.
According to information from Istraga, the same group has continued with “holiday” activities in the following days. On Saturday, January 8th, the group visited the monuments to the “fallen soldiers of the RS Army” in the Brcko district. The formation posed for a photo session, then lit torches and, according to our information, was in the group of fans of FK Ilićka 01 Brčko, who were addressed that evening by the local Bosnian population. On Sunday night, they wrote a message on Facebook saying they were ready to give blood for Republika Srpska, as Milorad Dodik wants.
In May last year, members of this Facebook organization openly thanked the Russian Federation for its support.
“It is talked, it is talked that the Russians are coming”, is the text of a song they posted on their official Facebook page on May 21, 2021.
Special thanks were then expressed for the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Sarajevo and Ambassador Igor Kalabukhov.
“Another modest gift for our organization, as a sign of work and dedicated effort to make the society better painted with different jams. We will be even stronger, faster, more consistent, and more persistent in our goals and actions. THANK YOU RUSSIA “, they wrote on the association’s Facebook page, boasting about the new cars.
Ambassador of the Russian Federation in BiH, Igor Kalabukhov, was present on Sunday at the celebration of the unconstitutional day of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka. After Banja Luka, the celebration of RS Day will continue in Brcko and the ceremony will be attended by Milorad Dodik. Brcko is a strategic city in BiH because, as a district, it divides Republika Srpska in two parts.
